An invigorating three-week hybrid program, Unboxed is intended for recent high school graduates who are interested in STEM topics and self-identify with a historically underrepresented ethnic or racial group.

The first two weeks of UNBOXED are virtual, culminating with a final week in-person at our NYC office. Students will take small, group classes online and dive into topics like statistics, probability, programming, and analytical problem solving. After spending a few days learning about each of these disciplines, students will have the opportunity to visit our New York office. In New York, students will connect with Jane Street traders, researchers, software engineers, and business development analysts to focus on a particular subject matter. This may mean translating the foundations of mathematics to the financial markets, coding in OCaml, or analyzing business case studies.

Unboxed does not require a prior knowledge of finance or an in-depth understanding of any other subject mentioned above, only an interest in learning more about these areas and how they might apply to a future career at Jane Street. Participants must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. without a visa sponsorship.
