This summer, Jane Street is excited to host our fourteenth annual WiSE program in New York City! We are inviting self-identifying women, transgender, and/or gender-expansive people graduating from high school this spring to spend two days in our office learning more about who we are, what we do, and how we do it. Individuals who are selected to attend this event will receive an in-depth look into the ways we use math, computer science, and probability concepts in trading, as well as insight into the different roles that exist within our firm. Participants will hear from and interact with various traders and technologists and learn how they transitioned from their college concentrations in STEM fields to careers at Jane Street. The curriculum will demonstrate how our many teams, including trading, software engineering, research, and business strategy, collaborate every day to solve complex problems. Participants will also attend a social event, which will provide additional opportunities to get to know Jane Street and the other program participants. Selected students will arrive on the afternoon of July 23rd and will depart on the morning of July 26th. Jane Street will provide travel to and from New York, housing, and financial assistance for meals and other incidentals. Our office is located in Brookfield Place and the hotel where you’ll be staying is just a few blocks away. All Jane Street events will be chaperoned and Jane Street will provide additional onsite security at the hotel accommodations. The program does not require a prior knowledge of finance, only an interest in seeing what a career at Jane Street might look like.
