NextA summer of learning by doing
Jane Street's 2026 summer internship recently wrapped up across our New York, London, and Hong Kong offices. This year's class came from over one hundred schools in countries across the globe.
Classes started with fundamentals like how markets work, why we use OCaml, and where heuristics and biases lead people astray, then built toward more complex material, with mock trading sessions along the way. The other half of the internship was focused on a single substantial project, drawn from work the firm actually needed done. Past interns have built tools that trading desks now use daily, trained autoencoders to compress order-by-order market data, and written GPU memory management code that still runs in our production training systems.
Interns from previous summers talk through the interview process, the mentor relationship, and the first weeks of not knowing anything in a new video on our internships page.
