NextA summer of strategy
Chess boards took over the NYC office again this summer as more than 200 Streeters gathered for our twelfth (give or take) annual summer chess tournament. In a fun twist, bragging rights go to the interns this year, beating the full‑timers by a decent margin in head‑to‑head matchups.
Players were sorted into divisions by skill, including a beginners' group. The only entry requirement: know how the pieces move. The tournament ran all summer with round‑robins at every level and plenty of chances to play.
Around the office we saw many people huddling over boards and talking about their games - a built-in brain break and a fun opportunity to meet folks outside their teams. Hundreds of games later, it added up to a whole lot of chess!
