Summer speakers bring fresh perspectives to Jane Street

This summer brought exciting guest speakers to Jane Street’s global offices as part of our annual Summer Speaker Series. We welcomed guests from across tech, academia, entertainment and beyond to share their expertise and unique perspectives with Streeters and interns.

In New York, economist and author Tyler Cowen joined us for a “Hot Ones”–style AMA, covering everything from NYC’s best hidden restaurants to the future of AI. We also hosted theoretical physicist Adam Brown for a wide-ranging physics AMA, and writer and podcaster Dwarkesh Patel for a lively panel with Streeters on AI.

In Hong Kong, three-time Olympian and Mind the Waves co-founder Camille Cheng spoke about sport and mental wellbeing, while YouTuber and mathematician Matt Parker (Stand-up Maths) explored complex math in a separate session. In London, Sam Bowman, founding editor of Works in Progress and Head of Publishing at Stripe, discussed how institutional and policy barriers shape the UK.
