Explore the inner workings of our business in this daylong program for first- and second-year university students. You'll spend the day focusing on one of two tracks — Strategy and Product or Institutional Sales and Trading — depending on where you join us. Our London program offers both tracks, while New York focuses on Strategy and Product.
Strategy and Product - In this track, you’ll take an inside look at how “SPs” build new lines of business and trading flows, respond to shifting regulations, and optimize the complex mechanics that underlie our firm. SPs are versatile problem-solvers with a deeply analytical approach and a holistic view of our business, moving across Trading, Technology, Finance, Compliance, and Operations. For this track, you won’t need any prior knowledge of finance—just curiosity and an interest in seeing what a career at Jane Street might look like.
Institutional Sales and Trading - In this track, you’ll explore how Sales Traders and Product Specialists partner with clients to provide trading solutions and liquidity. You’ll find out how to combine capital markets expertise with strong client relationships to help a wide range of institutions—asset managers, pension funds, insurance companies, and more—reach their trading goals. For this track, it’s best to have some prior experience learning about finance and markets.
We’ll provide your travel to and from the program, along with meals, housing, and a variety of social events. We may also be able to reimburse you for out-of-pocket, program-related expenses.
